Dave Branson, M.Sc., CCA-CND

Dave grew up in rural eastern Ontario and until leaving for university worked as a farmhand on local farms.

He is a graduate of Queen's Unversity (Kingston, ON) where he completed a B.Sc. (1987) and M.Sc. (1989) in Physical Geography and Climatology.

In 2013, he successfully completed the Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) examinations for Ontario.

Over the past 25 years he has had very diversified worked in GIS and Remote Sensing that has spanned a wide range of industry sectors including agriculture, local planning, watershed management, municipal engineering and earth sciences in both public and private sectors.    He began his career developing GIS services for the Ottawa based civil engineering firm, Robinson Consultants Inc., and in 1995 launched his own consulting firm, GeoSolutions Consulting Inc.

Interesting fact: Worked as a whitewater river guide and wilderness canoe trip leader before graduating from university.

Matt Fraser, B.A.

Matt Fraser has 20 years experience in the development of software applications. Over this time he has held several development and managerial positions including working at Corel as a Quality Assurance Specialist, Developer, Quality Assurance Manager and Program Manager. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in all facets of the software development cycle (from the requirements trapping phase, through the design, implementation, testing and release phases.

Mr. Fraser is a graduate of McMaster University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts (1993) in Biology and Philosophy.

For over 15 years Mr. Fraser has developed his expertise as software programmer and is proficient as a .NET developer. He has focused on the design and implementation of XML, SVG applications and more recently WPF & Silverlight.

His expertise focuses on accessing a wide variety of data stores and preparing them for multi-channel distribution. His recent work experience has applied these skills to the design and implementation of web-based GIS applications. He has presented his work and evangelized open-standard technology at world class events such as Seybold, XML World, Internet Working Event, OpenPublish and ArcWeb.
